The last soccer game was Saturday! McKinley played well and got a trophy from her coach. We told all her friends how much fun we had and we would miss them. McKinley has really enjoyed soccer this last two months, and went from not wanting to get on the field, to wanting to play the entire game. I am so proud of her!
This was also the morning of a very embarrassing moment. The game started at 9:00 and at 8:50, I am trying to find the hot pink jersey that she has to wear. I found it in the washing machine, with spoiled milk on it from Thursday night. I forgot to wash it, and there we are in a predicament. Jackson just grabbed it and said, don't worry it is fine, and headed out the door. When I arrive with Lucy to the game after the start, Jackson tells me that the shirt stinks so bad that the crowd on the field could smell it! All the kids were holding their nose, and the coach had to explain to the little soccer girls that McKinley is not stinky, her shirt was just left with some smelly things. HOW BAD IS THAT! I get the bad mom award for the day by far. McKinley thought it was pretty funny, and was not upset, and admitted that she was really stinky! I worried about it the whole game, and changed her as soon as it was over! Anytime she ran by kicking the ball, it was all you could do not to comment about the stench. It was a big laugh for everyone, but not me...
