Here come the "Terrible Twos"

Well I see them as terrific twos, so far.  It is hard to believe that my little one is already 2 years old!  We enjoyed a big berry birthday party this weekend to celebrate and I will post about that later.  Here are ten new things about our 2 year old Lucy Claire!
-We now have no paci!  We took it away a week or two ago, and every night we have to go on a paci hunt and look all around the room and under the bed to see if we can find it.  I told her that Dinky accidentally broke them when left on the floor, but she is still hunting for one that Dinky might have missed.  Poor thing!  Anytime Lucy is sleepy or grumpy, she ask for "my paci!"
-Lucy's new favorite book is one that the Griffeths gave to her for her birthday.  It is a Jungle book and it has puzzle pieces in it that come out to make a tiger train, and this little tiger goes around the track as you read the story-very cute!  Close to second is the "Caps for sale" and the "Mermaids" book for counting.  She now likes to read along with us, which I love.
-Lucy now counts to 10, and she is learning how to count to 10 in Spanish as well.  Impressive!  She speaks very softly and whispers her words, it is so cute to watch.  She also loves to say her ABCs and sings "5 Little Monkeys" and "Row Row Row your boat" often.
-Lucy loves to say the blessing at the table, her favorite is "ABCDEFG, thank you God for feeding me" which is Allie's blessing that we learned and loved.  After that one, she says the "God is Great" blessing.  She also says her prayers at night now too.
-Lucy has a best friend in her class, Isabelle, and they are tight buddies.  They go everywhere together, and play telephone, where they talk to each other and laugh like moms on cell phones across the room from each other.  We learned at the latest teacher conference that Lucy is the sweet friend of the class, and whenever any of the other students are upset, crying, or pouty, she runs over to pat their backs and say "alright".
-Lucy's favorite thing to eat is...you guessed it, sugar!  She loves sweets, and gets it honest.  She will eat any fruit, even more when you put whip cream on top!  She is great at eating most foods and really will try anything.  At her last picnic with family, she ate 3 uncrustable sandwiches!  You would never have thought it looking at her teeny tiny tummy!
-Night time routines have gotten a little harder!  Lucy goes down a little later than she used to, 8:00 or so, and she has to be rocked for 10 minutes, then put back into bed about 3 times after jumping out of bed and running to the door.  Sometimes we even have to threaten to take away her lovies to get her to stay in the bed, and that seems to work for now.  What happened to the days we would put her down after books, kiss goodnight, say prayers, and close the door?  Not any more!
-Lucy is now Miss Independent!  She has to brush her teeth by herself, get into the car by herself, try to buckle by herself, drive her princess car by herself, and if we try to assist, we get a melt down!
-Lucy is going through some separation anxiety and has to be passed to a teacher everyday when we drop her off at school.  She clings and cries, but does stop as soon as we walk out.  I think the drama queen is coming out!
-Lucy is a future artist!  She is the only child in her room that will sit nonstop and paint or do anything that revolves around art for long periods of time.  The bigger the mess, the better!  She brings home artwork each day and I love to see what she is up to!
