I thought for our 4 years as husband and wife I would travel back down memory lane to the day we were married. It was a beautiful, hot day, packed full of activities for our family and friends. Below are moments from our special day, August 21st 2004,that we will always remember!
-my luggage never made it to the Westin so I had to call my parents at 2:00 am to bring my over night bag from their car so I could wear my fancy white lingerie on my wedding night!
-our friends passed us by as we left the reception in our horse and carriage yelling and screaming as they headed downtown!
-my friends each gave me a charm that resembled a memory we shared together before the ceremony, and I love to look at the charms and remember the moment.
-My mom gave me a memory book full of special events in her life and my Goggy's life as a keepsake. I cried like a baby when I read it.
-My girlfriends and I all had our toe nails painted the same color at the spa to match the gold bridesmaids dresses.
-my dad asked me if I was nervous as the doors opened for the bridal march down the isle.
-Jackson cried when he saw me in my gown. I had never really seen him cry before then.
-My grandfather asked me for my first dance and he stepped on my gown while slow dancing and the bustle came undone and my friends were to the rescue to find a big safety pin.
-I drank white wine even though I preferred red because I was worried about spilling on my dress!
-Jackson and I woke up in the middle of the night to cuddle and watch the last summer olympics.
-Jackson and I took shag lessons to do some fancy dancing on the dance floor, and never tried the tricks that night.
-Jackson was so thrilled to share the night with his bilogical family. It meant so much to him to have them at the wedding from NY.
-In the homily, our minister spoke of a bouquet of sweet peas (P's) and reminded us of the importance of patience.
We often talk about that weekend and the meaning behind it and how blessed we were to find each other and make it the 8 years up to our wedding day. God had a plan in our relationship from the beginning. I thank Him everyday for that.
These pictures are from our St. Lucia honeymoon. It would be so much fun to be back there again on vacation--maybe next year! We had so much fun and can't wait until the next getaway! Happy Anniversary honey--love you!
