Sunday morning we left Jupiter and traveled about an hour to the Prescott ranch. It was like being on a safari, or a swamp tour! Lots of deer, pigs, cows, peacocks, and armadillo. We have learned they hate armadillo and pigs, and love the deer and cattle, so we did a little impromptu hunting as we rode around in the swamp buggies. Anytime we saw a pig or armadillo, bang bang! Let's just say we came home with a lot of pork meat! The cows were everywhere, which was Lucy's favorite part! She had to point to every cow and say "moo". McKinley's favorite was running over the bushes in the buggy.
They treated us to a traditional swamp dinner-fried frog legs, fried conch, fried deer, fried gator. Lots of fried stuff! Also, ribs and swamp cabbage, which was new to me. McKinley and Lucy ate the macaroni-no chance of them trying something new! We celebrated Bonnie's 60th birthday with cake and gifts, and toured all the houses on the ranch, and I especially liked the trophy house and the honeymoon suite where we slept the night. I can't wait to go back!
