About 2 weeks ago, I heard a big thud in the middle of the night, and then little footsteps down the stairs, and there comes Lucy into our bedroom! I thought what I heard was McKinley sneaking down the stairs in the middle of the night, which happens often, but no, it was Lucy with her paci, lovie, and blanket in tow. The next night, it happened 4 times. So I watched her to see how she was getting out of her crib, and she was holding onto the side and swinging her body over like a monkey, then dropping once on the other side to the carpet. Sneaky girl. So, that night before bed we transformed her crib into a big girl toddler bed. We also lock her in her room each night to make sure she doesn't come down the stairs in the dark in the middle of the night. We had about a 2 week transition--the transition from H-E-double L we can call it. Lucy would get up and slide out of bed, about 3 am and BANG on the door and scream OPEN until we went upstairs to tuck her back in. I guess that happens when you have a bed transition (although if you remember McKinley was a pro.) I even tried the CRY IT OUT thing and no that did not work, it just prolonged going upstairs to calm her down. Finally, she started all the sudden not getting up and banging and screaming. Now, all is well, and we are all sleeping. :-)
It was fun to put her little toddler bedding on, and tuck her in each night, but very sad for me to see my baby a big girl now with no more cribs in the house. This happens each time we have a "baby transition"-no more nursing, no more bottles, then no baby food, soon no diapers, how has time flown by so fast????
Not sure what that weird white spot is? It is not on the bed so maybe a ghost?
