MD appointment-16 weeks

I had a great report today! The heartbeat is strong at 150 something beats and I recorded it on a build-a-bear recorder and will put it in the stuffed animal for the baby once we find out what we are having! It is so neat to have a stuffed animal with the baby's heartbeat in it! McKinley has hers in a bunny, but she doesn't realize it is her own heartbeat. I got to the doctor and started waiting for Jackson and he called me and wondered where I was...he was at our pediatrician's office! I guess when I said "Dr apt today" he was thinking McKinley's 2 year check. So I went solo. My belly is measuring 17 cm (1 week ahead but maybe that is from the extra belly fat!) --my doctor laughed at me and said no, that was right on target. I am getting more excited! The baby was kicking the heart beat dopler thing the whole time we listened. The fun ultrasound is on Dec 11 so I will know what we are having for outlet shopping that weekend! Funny how those things work around the shopping schedule! I have gained 4 pounds in 4 weeks--scary, so I guess I need to lay off the sweets. The nurse said a pound a week was good, but I think she is crazy. Even though I gained 40 with my first, I really want to keep it lower than that so I can get it off faster next time around! I know I should not worry about those kinds of things while I am prego, and it does not last that long so I need to enjoy it, but I am just paranoid about gaining more weight! I have now started to show, and much thicker in the middler, and wearing maternity clothes. I already want to be back in my regular stuff. It is hard to alternate black, tan, and brown pants to work all the time! My many regular suit jackets are too small and my maternity suit jackets (only 2) can fit a basketball in them. I have lots of spring/summer, not so much fall/winter. I will need to start looking at work clothes more, to wear for only 20 weeks--depressing.
