For Jackson's birthday this year, I surprised him with a chef night at our house! We got an auction package from an event earlier this year and we never planned it so I thought this was perfect timing. The chef showed up at the door and cooked for us for a few hours and served us in the dining room. He was so entertaining and we loved talking to him as he prepped and cooked, and we learned lots from his expertise! It was so much fun as we enjoyed our 4 courses of gourmet food in our own house. The kids were at my parents so that was nice too to get a full night sleep!!!!
Here was our menu:
1-seared salmon picatta with spinach and cheese ravioli, 2-poached pear, butter greens, heirloom tomato and fresh herbs, asiago cheese and cracked black pepper, 3-beef tenderloin, brie stuffed potato, asian grilled slaw, grilled paddy pan squash, 4-bananas foster flambe, chocolate covered krispy kreme doughnut, berry garnish---then we were stuffed!!

you do the coolest things in your life...I am always amazed at the next thing you all come up with to do! Will you be event planner for my life? It just sounds like so much fun!
What a neat idea! And ditto to what Brooke said!
